Lumen is a new HubSpot CMS theme for photographers and creative studios, available now on the HubSpot Marketplace for $999.99. It is built for photographers who sell on the strength of the work itself, and for studios that want a site their own team can keep current without calling a developer every time the portfolio changes.
You can read the full Lumen overview, or browse the live demo before you decide.
What a photography website actually needs
The work has to land before anything else is read. Someone arrives from a social link or a search for a photographer in their city, and the first frame decides whether they scroll. After that they want to see whether you shoot what they need, what it costs, and how to reach you — without hunting.
Lumen ships every one of those out of the box, populated and ready for your own images, services, and prices:
- Full-bleed heroes that take a still or a muted background video, with a logo that swaps between light and dark over the image.
- A portfolio index and single project pages with a pager, so a visitor moves from one body of work to the next without going back to the index.
- A standalone gallery in bento, masonry or equal grid, with a full-screen lightbox, hover zoom and captions.
- Services, service detail, and pricing with tiers and add-ons, so the money question is answered on the site instead of by email.
- A contact form tied to a HubSpot form, so an inquiry lands in your CRM as a contact rather than in an inbox.
Scroll motion you can switch off
Sections stack over one another as you scroll, headings fill in word by word, images drift at their own speed inside their frames, and a card carousel turns in real perspective. GSAP, ScrollTrigger and Lenis drive all of it on one ticker. One theme setting stands the whole system down and leaves a page that scrolls plainly with everything visible, and visitors browsing with reduced motion enabled at OS level get that version automatically, with the layout left stacked in place.
Built for search
The reviews module writes review structured data, so a studio can earn star ratings in search results. Sections too tall to hold as a card are dealt out of the stack automatically, so nothing scrolls dead. Module fields carry their own accessibility labels for the menu and lightbox dialogs, nav landmarks and carousel controls, so those strings translate with the rest of the site.
Your work, your team controls
Add and reorder projects, swap galleries, change prices and packages, and edit every page from the page editor. A Site base path setting lets the whole theme run under a subdirectory, which is how the demo lives at /lumen-preview. Nothing is hardcoded, so none of it needs a developer for day-to-day changes.
Every page a photography studio needs
Home, portfolio, project, gallery, services, service detail, about, pricing, contact, and documentation are all designed and populated. There are landing pages for a consultation and for a downloadable report, each with no header or footer and built for one action. A blog with listing and post templates, and every system page — error pages, search results, password prompt, and the subscription pages — is styled to match instead of falling back to a default.
Every detail in theme settings
Heading, body and serif accent fonts each carry their own size, weight, line-height and letter-spacing scale. A colour token set covers surfaces, text, borders, overlays and the menu panel. Page width, gutters, spacing steps, section minimum heights, radius presets, animation durations and reveal offsets are all fields. CTA buttons render as a circle, a pill or a rectangle, and form inputs take their own shape, border, focus and background colour. Change a value once and it applies to every page, every module, every state. Lumen uses a monochrome base with Urbanist headings, Public Sans body text, and an Instrument Serif accent out of the box.
